Hello, in this material we will take you on an adventure around the southern and western United States of America, to sunny California stretched along the Pacific Ocean, the desert-steppe Nevada, hot Arizona with the Grand Canyon and Utah, the land of rock arches and Mormons.
We will show you what the route was like during these almost three weeks of driving, we will tell you about some places and accommodation options. We will also leave you with as many tips as possible on how to save time and money.

It is difficult to find a country in the world so diverse and offering as much as the metropolises known to everyone, New York with Manhattan, Central Park, Times Square and Broadway, Los Angeles and the famous Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Venice beaches,
Chicago known for its architecture, blues music and beautiful lakes USA has a fascinating culture of many ethnic groups inhabiting these lands and even cuisines, including burgers, hot dogs, barbecue, pizza, Mexican food and much more other, All this will be an incentive for many to organize a trip,
And it is impossible to forget about the greatest treasure of the USA – the natural heritage encompassing 63 national parks, including the Grand Canyon and Death Valley. Do not forget about State Parks and other magnificent places.
You can see that in such a situation it is not easy to choose a route and decide which points will be on our way. In our case, the choice fell on the southwest, specifically: California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah.
It sounds trivial and you might think that what is it, just four states, but you have to remember that their total area, it is almost 2 million km 2, more than 6 times more land than Poland. So, as you probably guessed, we have barely become acquainted with this region of the country.
Okay, but now look what we saw on our route, counting from the beginning we have: Stanford University, Monterey, Dinosaur Caves Park Solvang, Santa Barbara, Malibu, Santa Monica Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Little Colorado Monument Valley, Horseshoe Bend, Lake Powell, Hoover Dam, Kanab, Zion
Valley of Fire, Sequoia National Park, Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe, Reno, Sacramento The total length of the route was 4400 km, and our overnight stays were at different distances from each other, and the type of accommodation changed depending on the need
We rented our means of transport, a car, a Kia Sorento, on Turo for almost PLN 4,000, hich included basic insurance and a tent with two camping chairs for $30. Only the vehicles on this website have such extras, and the option of staying overnight in a tent was important to us.
Of course, we can buy insurance in a slightly more premium version, but after reading the conditions, we considered it an unnecessary expense. Fuel costs varied, from over $5 in California to just over $3 per barrel in Las Vegas, taking into account the currency
And the fact that fuel here is calculated per gallon (3.78 liters), the price will range from approx. PLN 6 to PLN 4 per liter. If you want to save money, search for gas stations on Google Maps and it will show you the prices, most often truthfully.
Let’s get back to accommodation. Our four main booking sites are airbnb, booking.com for casual places, reservation.gov and hipcamp.com for tent and camping sites, and couchsurfing for on-demand and free accommodation.
We booked the campsites at the earliest, especially in the Heart of Yosemite Valley and just off the south rim of the Grand Canyon about two weeks earlier. Here, the opening of reservations varies and the availability of seats at these popular spots decreases by the hour.
A place to park a tent and a car is super cheap, around $20-30, and the locations are fantastic. Therefore, we rocemmend to you camping.
