It was about an hour drive from San Sebastian to the small village in the mountains, home to Asador Etxebarri within a stone building. The location is beautiful, gorgeous Basque countryside with green grass, natural and fresh.

Chef and owner Victor Arguinzoniz is a master of cooking everything over fire – he’s Spain’s king of BBQ. When you think about bbq, you often think of steak and meat – and yes you will get one of the best steaks of your life – but it’s so much more than that – you’ll be introduced to seafood and vegetables and everything, kissed by the smoke and grill. Chef Victor sources the best single ingredients from across Spain and serves them simply – he even tells me he cooks primitive style. However, he has truly mastered fire. The food is simple, but as high quality as possible and that’s what stands out.

Without a doubt one of the best Spanish food experiences and meals in the world!

  2. It would be nice if not only the name of the restaurant is mentioned, the address also should be mentioned or the city etc. After watching videos I now need to google!!

  3. That rib steak is raw and too much black soot from dancing flames, meat is good roasted “red” color not black plus rib fat a little more cooked tastes better, I like rare meet but you’re missing out on flavor

  4. Please stop making the same facial expressions every time you take a bite of food. It’s not professional. You don’t see Anthony Bourdain or Andrew Zimmern doing it.

  5. I guess it all tastes good but it’s more of a display of great produce and ingredients than actual cooking skills, compositions and presentations. Certainly compared to other three star places.

  6. The ONLY reason why you were able to even get into that place was due to your large following. They won’t even respond to requests nor do they answer a single email.

  7. Tuna isn't only hard to get in Europe because it goes to Japan, it's incredibly overfished and the specific practices used in the Mediterranean are the worst on the world for bluefin stocks.
