San Sebastian Sreet Festival! Guide to Puerto Rico’s Craziest Party

Hey guys this rone froma chemer and we are here in San Juan Puerto Rico about to celebrate the biggest Festival in Puerto Rico actually it’s called la fiesta de laaya the San Sebastian so the San Sebastian Street Festival and it’s pretty awesome we’re going to have tons

Of tip so you can experience it for yourself so let’s get into it all right so basically the festival is held all in this historic district called Old San Hanan or po San Juan and basically gets cut off so no cars are able to enter and it’s just people walking around and

Stuff so definitely going to have to plan ahead of time for your transportation options to get into the City and for the plaza that you want to see cuz there’s tons of Performing artists vendors that are selling street food and stuff and yeah a lot of stuff going on all right so another

Transportation option if you’re trying to head to Sans is to take the buses a public transportation they leave from a couple spots across the city I know Sagara corason station and the hiran bethor station are also one but it might change depending on um you know time of

Year whatever so definitely want to check that beforehand but you can get a round trip uh pass on the bus that take you directly into S as far as you can go at least um for $5 so not bad let’s check it out Uber is another good option

If you want to get around the city without a car you won’t be able to access vijo sanan directly but there are certain drop off points that will take you to about a 15-minute walk from the first plaza if you plan on driving yourself there are certain areas

Available for parking such as kandanga uh for $20 or more a day but you’ll have to deal with insane amounts of traffic and uh yeah it’s pretty far from the festival you can also Ride Scooters if you find them laying around um which is a pretty Fun Way To Go pretty far but

Just note that they stop once you’re inside Vos San all right now for a little history lesson the San Sebastian street festival or also known as s by the locals is the Island’s most iconic cultural celebration originating in 1954 it was initially dedicated to the patron

Saint of San Juan to raise money for the church s typically occurs for 4 days on the third week of January the exact dates change year to year so be sure to check that beforehand over time it has evolved into a vibrant celebration of cultural and artistic tradition incorporating Street parties live music

Performances and Citywide parades all over the entire District it also unofficially marks the end of the longest holiday season in the world so don’t be surprised if you see some Christmas decorations still up around Town since it’s the Island’s largest Festival expect the crowds to be extremely heavy I recommend booking hotel and flight accommodations as early in advance as possible since prices will definitely surge that week and many hotels will sell out sunet is an all day and all night festival but it typically begins

With the opening ceremony Thursday around 5:00 p.m. with the procession parades with the cabes sudos usually occur in the mornings so be sure to arrive early if you want to see them who those are the giant headed masks you’ll see marching in the processions they are typically historic or political figures

And are one of the highlights of sunset the four main plazas will host headline artists for free so be sure to check out the schedule of events and head to the stage early to get to the best spot main stage with the most popular performers is actually Plaza del Quinto cenario

Where we saw the famous salsa sing Gilberto Sosa and it was incredible man there was amazing Vibe usually the performers last from 5 to 11 p.m. so you can choose between which stage you Want people now Father We walking in between plazas is also an adventure since singing dancing and random parades will spontaneously start at any moment it’s really a great party atmosphere where everyone’s having a great time be sure to grab some frituras at the street vendors you’ll find delicious fried Puerto Rican snacks all

Over bio San Juan stay tuned for our food Vlog where we’ll discover more iconic Puerto Rican food from some of the best restaurants on the Island H For [Applause] my [Applause] w A a This Fore All right so we survived man the the Festa again it was amazing 4 days not going to lie very intense tons of people did get pretty hot but if you love music street food salsa regon all that kind of stuff then this is definitely a festival

That you cannot miss out and it is super fun man the entire area of San Juan is just shut down and there’s so many people out there enjoying it so hope you enjoyed and let me know if you want to check out this Festival it’s definitely

One of my favorites and I think it’s one of the best in the world definitely contend with the other one so anyway hope you enjoyed like And subscribe and I’ll see you guys later peace Out
