Museu de les Ciències – Visiting The Amazing Valencia Science Museum 🇪🇸
The Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe, or Valencia Science Museum, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Valencia! 🧬
The Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe is also known in Spanish as the Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe or in English as the Prince Philip Valencia Science Museum. It’s an important visitor attraction in Valencia, Spain.
The Museu de les Ciències forms part of the City of Arts and Sciences (Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències/Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias) alongside L’Hemisfèric, L’Umbracle, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, L’Àgora and L’Oceanogràfic.
The Museu de les Ciències is an interactive museum over 3 floors. The building resembles the skeleton of a whale. The first floor has a view of the Turia Garden that surrounds it. The second floor hosts The Legacy of Science exhibition by researchers Santiago Ramón y Cajal and Severo Ochoa y Jean Dausset. The third floor is known as the Chromosome Forest and shows the sequencing of human DNA. Also on this floor are the Zero Gravity, Space Academy and Marvel Superheroes exhibitions.
The building’s architecture is known for its geometry, structure, use of materials, and its design around nature. It was designed by the Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava. The vast exhibition space makes it the largest science museum in Spain.
The Museu de les Ciències is a great place to explore if you’re spending time in Valencia. Spend some time taking in some of the other attractions at the@ciudadartesyciencias.
