We are taking a road trip to Mammoth Mountain, one of California’s premier ski resorts in the Sierra Nevadas. While we aren’t hitting the slopes on this trip, we check out what other activities this mountain destination has to offer. Sucks that the social, political and financial aspects of california has gotten out of hand. Having grown up in eastern sacramento, I had the Sierra foothills at my fingertips and would go fishing for wild trout in the river canyons at least once or twice a week. Now I'm in texas and while it is cheaper and the people are somewhat nicer(depending on where you are and who you talk to)most of texas is flat and BORING as f*ck. The hill country outside of Austin is nice but does not compare even close to the sierras, cascades,siskiyous, and coast ranges of the west. The rockies are amazing. If you love mountains and wilderness, don't move to texas
