A century of elegance renewed: Hotel Maria Cristina, San Sebastian
[Music] e [Music] [Music] s [Music] [Applause] for [Music] the relationship between the city and the hotel is very strong the hotel Maria Christina because of its Center position in the city and because over the past 100 years the hotel Maria Christina was always the center of all the activities whether cultural whether official um the city is counting very much on Maria [Music] Christina we had a big restoration and uh it was a 9 months restoration with investment of 20 million 100 years old uh hotels and rooms are have wider rooms and uh higher ceilings uh so we really wanted to keep that and what was very important in our renovation is to keep the B po style um so we uh we had a good emphasis on that and we’ve changed all the old golden and red colors into more of Grays and beige colors to be really more peaceful and more discreet a bit like the Society of St [Music] Sebastian we have some bullet holes um on the facade of the hotel referring to the to the Civil War and this is uh the sad years of Spain but we wanted really to keep them as remembrance that it that life hasn’t always been um joyful here you can stare at this wall and seeing the impacts for 15 minutes and understanding from where the impact have been sh so that makes makes it really interesting as a perspective you know to see it in in San Sebastian people they come mainly for the city and as the city is lived uh as a five-star traveler you really need to have the the hotel that correspond to why the Highlight here is service personalized service Elegance discretion and and luxury into the into the small [Music] details
