San Sebastian’s pintxos are delicious! But everyone goes to the bars in the small historic centre. Yes, they’re amazing, and I love them. But there is so much more to this city. So Yoly and I hit the super local pintxo bars in San Sebastian’s Centro Neighbourhood. Venga, let’s go! 🥝

These are the pintxo bars we hit!
1. Casa Vallés: the home of the gilda, the original pintxo!
2. Bar Espiga: San Sebastian’s oldest pintxo bar, and home to the fabulous Jesus
3. Bar Ciamboga: A tiny hidden spot famous for one very garlicky potato dish
4. Narru: Fancy bar in a hotel lobby serving some seriously good chicken wings.
5. Bar Antonio: This place has champagne by the glass! And an incredible anchovy dish that is tiny, but delicious.
6. Altuna: Not quite a pintxo bar, but these guys do some fantastic market-fresh shared plates!
And remember to pair it all with txakoli, local cider or Rioja1

*THIS VIDEO WAS SHOT A MONTH AGO BEFORE LOCKDOWN* A couple of weeks before we went into lockdown, Yoly and I took a trip up to San Sebastian. And we shot a couple of videos. This is the first. Let's all stay at home, keep social distancing and ensure we can get through this! 💪🏾
Only thing better than the pintxos is the energy you guys give off – Keep it up!
Have you got any recommendations for a Sunday and Monday (when we believe many places are closed)?
Do you have a tour in Santander
Hi. We're in Bilbao and can't remember the bar(s) that were good for txakoli and or cidre. Any suggestions would be appreciated .
Jack and Vera Caselles
Hi I think I have seen all your videos and I love them! What I love most of all is how you two love and appreciate each other! And Yoli is absolutely beautiful..I wish you both the very best forever
Am coming to San Sebastián in October, I want to do a tour with you guys
I remember gramma used to pickle sardines in her clay jars, and when they were ready to make fish sauce for her kimchee she would take to and put on a plate for me and give some fresh picked chili peppers and a bowl of rice. the first anchovy dish really reminds me of what i remember.
Thanks!
You guys have come so far… and its so cool to have developed what you have. My wife (Russian and I American) did something similar in the past but more a mix of e-commerce and moving forward in health care within the US (which was challenging). Anywho… you rock, we've followed you since and it'd be fun to talk. Planning on a trip to San Sebastian and or Barcelona this year and would like to talk… will buy a tour…. hope to meet as we're considering the medical work we do now for Ukraine and perhaps how Spain revealed tours might pair up. Feel free to DM me.
Thanks for your videos as a new comer we followed this one in San Sebastián – going to the outer areas was a great tip! One was not so happy to see tourists it would appear (not one of your recommendations)! Ssua was fantastic , booked a table and ate the most delicious food, albeit in the old city!!!
I am from Caceres and live in Perth (Australia). I love your channel. One thing I miss a lot about Spain is the large pharmacies (well, and supermarkets too) where you can buy toiletries: soaps, shower gels, deodorants, fresh colognes, etc. Yoli should do a supermarket tour of Spanish toiletries, I am sure it would be very popular.
An awful lot of anchovies in these bars…if you're not into fish are there still good options?
San Sebastias is the best place in the world for quality food
Hi!Love your videos!!When I am back in Spain we need to make a video.I love Pintxos.Saludos desde Alemania
are you circumcised?
can you comment on the tipping situation around Spain?
How about a "who's cooking at home" video. What did you buy, what's a regular daily home cooked meal for 2 look like?
I want to retire to France as close as possible to Spain.
omg Spain 🇪🇸 is the Best country around!!
Yummy+Good4 my tummy👍
i see the food being displayed openly. How do they address the hygiene factor? Open food lying around and people talking near it? TQ
Hey mate! I live in Orlando and was curious where you ate the best wings. Want to check them out for myself! Lol😂
