Campechada 2024 San Juan Puerto Rico | Things To Do In Puerto Rico
If you’re looking for things to do in Puerto Rico then you can’t do much better than at “La Campechada”. Unfortunately, by the time you watch this video it will probably all be over. But, there’s always next year.
La Campechada is a street festival that started in 2013 on San Sebastian Street in Old San Juan. That’s right, the same street where they celebrate the word-famous Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián (Saint Sebastian Street Festival). In fact, I covered that original event for Puerto Rico By GPS. Initially “La Campechada” was more of an art-centric festival where artists even created their pieces right before your eyes. But now it has morphed into a full fledged event where you have music, exhibits, food and yes… a lot more people. It all happens yearly in or around September.
It’s also a traveling event. That means that they move it from town to town. And of course, many of those towns are also Puerto Rico’s best places to visit.
This year it took place in Santurce, an area within the township of San Juan, from August 31st to September 1st. But hey, there’s always next year, so take a look and plan ahead. Enjoy.
