  1. You guys make a very nice team, once I heard this I hope it sounds right, good bromance you have there 🙂 . Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job!

  2. Hello! Any chance you would be in Barcelona on September 14 to 20? Will be flying there for a couple of days would love to interview you about spain from a personal finance point of view.

  3. Nice tour but too touristy in my opinion as a wine lover. Those are big brand bodegas that produce milions of bottles. I'm more of small family owned bodegas. You're quite brave drinking those wines with 15% abv all day though. Good video man!

  4. Great video, love Spain and we will have to visit this area. Didn’t notice the palate cleanser or intermezzo between the €4 and €51 glass of wine though.

  5. I absolutely love, love this video! I had no idea that Haro existed! Oh you have made my day James! Now I will make sure that when I get back to Spain this place will definitely be on my itinerary. Gracias!

  7. My wife and I are going to Bilbao in June. We looked into Rioja guided tours only to conclude that it's WAY overpriced for what's offered… Your awesome video made us realize that we should simply get on a bus to Haro and spend the day there Bodega Hopping! The town looks lovely. Thanks to you and Phil for having pointed us in the right direction and keeping us entertained in the process!

  8. Honestly, I have had wine that is between $15.00 to $50.00 and I have enjoyed many varieties but they were never on the high end side. I have my favorites. Phil is absolutely correct….people are pretentious….not the wine. I drink what satisfies my pallet.

  9. We were recently in Logrono and decided we wanted to visit a "bodega". Out came Google and, whilst we found quite a few well know ones – (Campo Viejo; Faustino;..) we decided to try "Marques de Murrietta"
Wow, compared to the early years of our travels in France with "Degustation Vente", this was a world apart.
First, we had to provide ID details to the security guard (who spoke perfect English!), then we drove up, through the immaculately tended grounds to "The Wine Bar" where we were greeted by a young lady who offered the wine menu to us.
My wife was particularly keen to try their white Rioja (only one is available!) – 90 ml for €14!! That took us aback a bit!! However, she loved it (of course!) so we ended uo buying 1 (I stress ONE bottle!) plus 6 bottles of a more reasonable offering (Reserva 2018 – only about €16 per bottle)
OMG! Go there and buy (and drink their wine!)

  10. Is there an equivalent town like Haro for the Ribera del Duero wine area? Just back from 2 weeks in Spain, we found those wines so much better than Rioja.
