Barcelona and Montserrat Day Tour – Gaudi, Tapas, and Montserrat in One Day!

Today we tour Barcelona Spain and see the highlights of this amazing city. We go up to Montserrat, we tour 2 major Gaudi sites, Park Guell and the Basílica de la Sagrada Família. We then have some amazing Tapas.

In Montserrat we see the Black Madonna and the Chapel of del Santíssim. The crucifix in this chapel is the work of Josep Maria Subirachs. It is an image of Christ realized in negative, where only the face, the hands and the feet are seen, with a light that illuminates the face to him. He also did the Passion façade on Sagrada Familya we will see later

Don’t miss seeing the Sagrada Familia. It was one of the most spectacular structures we have seen on our 9 month world cruise.

  1. Loved your video! We have been to Barcelona and loved it too. When we were there the Sagrada was still far from being finished, the interior was all “hard hat” area. Would love to go back, one of our favorite cities in Europe! The food is absolutely wonderful.

  2. Greetings from Málaga right now, which also – same like Barcelona – has totally changed since the 80ies. Both cities, esp. Málaga, can be considered nearly fancy, chic, right now. Spain has done a lot keeping cities now clean and less dangerous. Police is everywhere, e.g. you get highly fined if you don't remove your dog's poop from the streets.
Montserrat is sooo magical, there are many legends about the founding of the abbey. The stones are interesting . Always buses are going from Barcelona to M. if one wants to do it individually. Thank you for the video ❤

  3. Barcelona and particularly Sagrada Familia blew us away ! Never cottoned on to the adjective ‘gaudy’ before which is so commonplace. Still loving your journey.

  4. We loved Barcelona, have been a couple times and want to return. Next time with a visit to Montserrat. Really enjoyed the Gaudi sites and more to see. Keep 'em coming. Thanks,

  5. I went to Montserrat a few years ago.We had torrential rain, and fog and the drive up was terrifying.Even though we had tickets to see the Black Madonna the queue was closed and we didn't get in.The Gaudi buildings in the city are incredible.

  6. The thing about vlogging is that you get to live the experience again. When we would journal, we would read each other's and would get a kick out of how the other person saw the same experience differently.
