Hello friends! Today we take a stroll around the grand Plaza de España in Sevilla, Spain. Plaza de España was created for the Ibero-American Exposition held in 1929 and was intended to showcase the best of Spain’s industry and technology. The Plaza de España complex is a huge (50,000 sq. meters) half-circle. Four bridges, representing the ancient kingdoms of Spain, cross over a canal. In the centre is the Vicente Traver fountain. The architecture is a mix of ornate Spanish Regional architecture with beautiful ceramic tile work gracing the buildings and bridges.
The plaza is much loved by locals and tourists alike. In our one month stay in Sevilla, we visited the plaza several times. There’s always something interesting happening! One can find street performers in different parts of the buildings and we’ve enjoyed the flamenco shows and other street performers on the weekends.
Plaza de España is located within the Maria Luisa Park and may be overlooked by most tourist. Take some time to stroll in this lush park filled with bird song, flowers and tiled fountains.
The walk was recorded on May 2022 on a warm sunny days. I hope you enjoy!
