MORE ABOUT THIS VIDEO 😃

When you go to San Sebastian, it’s all about eating pintxos (the local form of tapas). The pintxo bars in this city are incredible. But the historic centre can get really busy. So in this video, my Devour Tours co-founder Lauren and I head to the neighbourhood of Gros (only a 10 minute walk from the history centre) and visit 9 of the best local pintxo bars there.

At each of the 9 places we try the specialty pintxo – everything from foie, to anchovies, to cured pork belly, to cod, to the most amazing fresh tomatoes and even dessert. And in each of the 9 pintxo bars, we’re largely surrounded by locals. So this gives us a great insight into the true local pintxo culture.

I give lots of tips for how to navigate a pinxto bar. And I also show you all the local drinks you should be enjoying with your pintxos. From the local white wine Txakoli, to super dry Basque cider to Rioja (from just 2 hours north), you’ll really get the low down and what drinks to pair with your pintxos!

Si vienes otra vez a esta ciudad, tienes que ir a LA MEJILLONERA y pedir unas Patatas Bravas.

Un saludo grande desde San Sebastián!!!!

  3. The Torrija its tipycal from Seville. Its a Holy Week desert.
Love you like spanish food! For me its the best in the world. Mexican second place and indian thirth.

  4. Excellent content James, the pintxos of the Basque Country are the equivalent of the tapas in other areas of Spain,
meanwhile in the RIO DE LA PLATA, they call then bocadillos (basically mouth-sized snacks) probably not as fancy
or elaborate as the tapas or pintxos, the bocadillos "etmology" or "naming" I think originates in Galicia?

I heard someone mention this, that a Gallego, owner of a "boliche" (or a bar) it was either Uruguay or Argentina,
used to cook-up a storm, in the boliche, making snack-sized plates, and not wanting to call them "tapas" or "pintxos",
as that would refer back "to the Old Country", he called them "bocadillos" – or in Aussie slang called – "finger foods"

  5. Are you on steroids – relax man – do you have to poor a half glass of wine inboard with your mouth full of food ? Disgusting to watch and disrespectful to the Spanish kitchen. I could not watch this video to the end

  6. ¡Qué fuerte!, estás en Donostia y empiezas con música de fondo española. Es como un documental sobre Venecia y empiezas con música en japonés.
