Travel around with me naar de ‘Batalla del Vino’ oftewel, The Wine Battle in de La Rioja regio in Spanje. Weer zo’n fantastisch gek event waar iedereen elkaar onder spuit met rode wijn. Het middeleeuwse dorp Haro is de hoofdstad van de Spaanse La Rioja Alta wijnstreek.

Hilarisch om compleet doordrenkt van de wijn te feesten met duizenden mensen. Sinds 1949 is het een officieel event waarbij alles is geoorloofd. Sla goedkope witte kleding in, koop een paar super soakers, haal in het dorp Haro de laatste versieringen zoals een sjaaltje en een traditionele wijnfles en je bent er klaar voor om je in het wijngevecht te mengen.

Bereid je voor op een bizar, gek hilarisch en fantastisch event waarbij ik uit eigen ervaring kan zeggen dat het dragen van een duikbril toch handiger is dan een zonnebril om tijdelijke blindheid van de rode wijn te voorkomen.

Travel around with me to the ‘Batalla del Vino’ or in English called: The Wine Battle in the La Rioja region in Spain. Another fantastic crazy event where everybody sprays each other with red wine. The medieval village of Haro is the capital of the Spanish La Rioja Alta wine region.

Hilarious to party completely drenched in red wine with thousands of people. Since 1949 it is an official event where everything is allowed. Buy cheap white clothes, buy a few super soakers, pick up the last decorations in the village of Haro, such as a scarf and a traditional wine bottle, and you’re ready to join the wine fight.

Prepare yourself for a bizarre, crazy hilarious and fantastic event where I can say from my own experience that wearing a mask is more convenient than sunglasses to prevent temporary blindness of the red wine.
