Palacio Real de Madrid or the Royal Palace of Madrid is one of the major tourist attractions in the Spanish capital. With 3418 rooms and floor area of 315000 sq meters, it is the largest Royal Palace in Europe. Currently, it is owned by the Spanish State and is used for ceremonial functions only. King Felipe and the Spanish Royal Family live in a more modest Palace on the outskirts of Madrid. The Palace and several rooms, including the Royal Chapel, are open to the public. The admission fee is about eur 10 p.p. Taking pictures and filming is only allowed in certain areas. Unfortunately, it is strictly forbidden in the rooms and the Royal Chapel. I hope you will enjoy this video in HD and that it will give you an idea of Palacio Real.

  1. Off course the royal family will NOT stay there. In today's world palaces like these no longer have the purpose it had like a few hundred years ago when a palace was the epicentre of a nation and everything happened at the palace.

This thing is the size of a large shopping mall. No sane person/s would want to live in a house the size of a mall. The upkeep is insane. That's also why the government of Spain owns it and no longer the royal family.
