[Music] on this episode of the resort we head to northern spain to a surprisingly unique beach town called san sebastian a six hour train from barcelona this small picturesque town filled a rich history as nestled between southern france and spain this melting pot area is referred to as the basque region besides its busy beaches and postcard settings san sebastian is the food capital of spain and for good reason it boasts the second most michelin stars per capita in the world only behind kyo’s japan home to the humble pinchot it is considered by many to be the greatest gastronomic destination in spain and maybe even the world so join us as we take you on an experience of how to order the most famous food in town [Music] [Music] um basically you get a piece of paper go down the line and look at what number correlates to what topic you want how many you want on the top this is what i want grab your little uh plate load you up give you a drink go grab your own tape as simple as that love it really the nice part about it though is that when you’re done you’re not waiting on a tan helping out the check you’re not waiting on it you’re just you’re done you’re done with the food let’s eat the assortment of different unique pintxos in each restaurant shows why this is a hot spot for food lovers it’s almost as if each restaurant is competing with each other to draw on the crowd from the streets all right boys so we’ve been doing this entire thing wrong so we’ve been focusing on this portion of the menu which is cold pop-ups or things that they put in the microwave so what we’re gonna do is everyone can do their respective tapas from the bar and then i’ll order some things from the table hot some kalamad into the spicy potatoes and then i might get a steak or something here just something that the three of us can share sound good sounds good i’m always thinking about getting you from here honestly yeah do it please tell me about a 26. but again look at 26. you see what that is bacon it’s one giant piece of bacon yeah you need it [Music] it looks pretty good [Music] steve is the guy who orders everything on the menu doesn’t even know what it is right check what just came to the table at least that might be something is i’ll put all the information right there for you in the description too as we walked through the streets of san sebastian we passed the window dressing of a store called casa poncella displaying an array of different stylish berets and other hats this shop happens to be the oldest hat shop in spain the best region if you didn’t know already is filled with rich history from its language of a mix of french and spanish which is said to be ancient to its fashion so one good gift idea for you if you come to san sebastian south of france north of spain is the women’s beret so i got a i picked up a couple of them different size different colors but that’s where they’re made they’re made here pretty close to san sebastian in france so it’s a good gift if you’re looking for something this is where we went to and uh the ones we bought are actually the oldest running company that make themselves so real good gift out here someone you know loves fashion it’s a hat with a powerful unlikely history the beret was once formed by peasant sailors in this region to political leaders of a more modern time one thing about the beret is that it’s never gone out of style if you guys enjoyed this vlog make sure you like and subscribe the video for more of leave the resort [Music]
