the most impressive thing about sagrat familia in Barcelona Spain is not the outside with these huge towers and hundreds of individual sculptures but it’s also not the inside which genuinely shocked me here’s the first moment I saw [Music] it that’s it’s also not these majestically beautiful columns like trees made of bone or that the colors of the stained glass windows tell a story using the path of the sun outside or that GA spent the last 43 years of his life working on this thing even though he knew he wouldn’t live to see it finished or that now he’s buried beneath it nope to me it’s bigger than that to me the most impressive thing about sugat Familia is that something so unbelievably imaginative and intensely unique could ever be damed up inside of the brain of just one person much less brought to life by the concerted efforts of thousands of others who knew him only by the impact of his art this places proof not only that Real Genius exists but of what can happen when enough people take notice and get behind it and for me that makes this the most beautiful and inspiring building on planet Earth so far at least

It’s also not the majestically beautiful columns that look like trees made of bone, or that the colors of the stained glass windows tell a story using the path of the sun outside, or that Antoni Gaudí spent the last 43 years of his life working on this thing even though he knew he wouldn’t live to see it finished, or that now, he’s buried beneath it.

To me, the most impressive thing about Sagrada Familia is that something so unbelievably imaginative and intensely unique could ever be dreamt up inside the brain of just one person, much less brought to life by the concerted efforts of thousands of others who knew him only by the impact of his art.

This place is proof not only that real genius exists, but of what can happen when enough people take notice, and get behind it. And for me, that makes this the most beautiful and inspiring building on planet Earth.

So far, at least.
