Rick Steves’ Europe Travel Guide | After wandering the Plaza Mayor, do a little high-stakes gambling at one of Europe’s biggest flea markets, ogle the lavish Royal Palace, ponder perplexing art at the Prado Museum, stare down a flamenco dancer in Sevilla, look deep into Picasso’s greatest work — Guernica — at the Centro Reina Sofía, and munch on pigs’ ears in a “tapa tango.” © 2004 Rick Steves’ Europe #ricksteves #ricksteveseurope #madrid

  1. “It’s about the art.” Not a very sound argument. That could be claimed of a lot of abuses.

  2. To the younger people watching this Rick Steves is not a YouTuber or a vlogger. He is a television host that has presented these travel documentaries for many years now.

  3. the local friends explanation about bull fights was so distorted. How a human being can define that dhameful vulgar bull killing as "ART"… bullfights are an insult a disgusting tradition… i love steve..

  4. Soy Madrileña y me parece que el documental habla de muchos tópicos, mucha comía y muy poca cultura y que enseñe el valle de los caídos, el monumento que ensalza la dictadura de Franco, me ha matado. Patético, no puedo decir más

  5. I love the sentence: "Some spaniards come here to honor him. Others come to be sure he's still dead". You defined Spain more than you think. By the way, Franco is not there anymore.

  6. As a person born in Madrid I'm really moved to see those nice comments of so many people… I also have to say that this is maybe a visit leaded by a conservative helper, it would be good to have another visit where he is advised by less conservative people to have a more fresh and contemporary view … Both views are real … A city with two faces

  7. El Cordobes the Babe Ruth of bullfighting? Gimme a break! Where do you leave the truly great, both Spaniards and Mexicans, like Manolete, Ortega, Gaona and Silverio?

  8. May our lady intercede for Francisco Franco, a devout Roman Catholic that protected the One True Faith in Spain against Communists and Degenerates. Francoist Spain was the best country in the last century.

  9. hearing the guy explain away how fighting a perfectly innocent creature as "just an art" can be said for anything. Murdering a human can be said as "just an art" or abusing the legal system. no matter how you slice it, torturing and murdering an animal is barbaric behavior used to entertain people is cruel and shouldn't be written off as just a leisurely pass time for spectators to watch.

  10. is NOTHING so called "Art" of tauting and inflicting unnecesary pain and suffering to this animal … Bullfighting in Spain should be recognized as torture to these animals …

  11. I love Rick Steve! One thing I can't agree with is bull fighting there is no art involved in any of this I don't care if it's culture, or tradition. Animal or Human cruelty has no place in our world. Period. There is NO excuse.
