Middle Fork Trail | Sequoia Natl Park | Potwisha, CA

This video was filmed prior to the KNP Complex Fire. The fire was declared 100 percent contained on December 16, 2021, after more than three months of firefighting and significant precipitation events across the Sierra Nevada. The fire left parts of Middle Fork Trail completely scorched and it does not look the same as it does in this video from 2019.

Potwisha-Middle Fork Trail provides access to the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River before climbing up the hillside to an old irrigation system. Here, people break off and find places to hang out along the river so that they can swim during the heat of the summer. Summers in the foothills is very hot, so make sure you bring sunscreen, head coverings or hats, and bug spray.
