Yosemite Avalanche May 2023 in Tenaya Canyon, Safely viewed from the Snow Creek trail.
I just cleared the tree line when I heard the rumbling then saw the snow coming down, dropped my hiking poles and pulled out my iPhone, that’s all I had time for. For all you armchair experts out there keep inn mind this was shot handheld on an iPhone.

Looks more like a flash flood than an avalanche, its crazy how fluid the snow can be in certain situations.

3 times I've seen Tenaya Canyon from Half Dome, but I've never seen Half Dome from Tanaya Canyon. I didn't even recognize it at first.

That is the sort of earth movement that turns up gold . I have no doubt someone will be down there soon
