The Royal Palace in Madrid is the main attraction and symbol of the Spanish capital. For two hundred years this place was the official residence of the kings of Spain.

At the moment, the palace in Madrid is the largest palace and park complex in Europe. The building itself covers an area of 135,000 sq. m., and the number of rooms seems simply incredible – 3418. For comparison, in the famous Buckingham Palace there are only 775 rooms.

The palace is famous for its lush and rich interiors – painted ceilings, gilded walls, crystal chandeliers, marble stairs and furniture from the best Italian and Spanish craftsmen.
