One of the cool things about the Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España is that sometimes you get little pockets of villages that can all be visited in one day. In this case, the south side of the Sierra Nevada National Park has 4….. 3 of which are on the same road within 7 km of each other!
The beautiful villages of Pampaneira · Bubión · Capileira are all on the same road and can easily be hiked in half a day. They all have a fantastic view at the big mountain and are classic Andalusian village every traveler would love to visit. Although many visitors in the region head to Granada to visit the Alhambra, the Andalusian villages in the National Park are equally as impressive in their own way.
The 4th village, Trevelez sits in the next valley over and is a super popular place for people to by ham…… Full legs of ham. You’ll find very cool shops that have ham legs hanging from the ceiling and covering entire walls. It’s a cool bit of Andalusian culture that we didn’t try…..being vegetarian and all…
